Levi: activities, tours and guides

When we surveyed the booking platforms, Levi had more activities on sale than anywhere in Finnish Lapland outside Rovaniemi, and every kind of tour this handbook covers is sold in or around the village.

Levi is a ski resort built around a fell in western Lapland, and for a short winter trip it has one practical advantage that is easy to overlook: Kittilä airport is 15 kilometres from the village. The nearest railway stations are further away, at Kolari about 80 kilometres off and at Rovaniemi about 170.1

The downhill season on the front slopes runs from October, on snow kept from the previous winter, until May.2 The activity season is shorter and depends on the activity; each guide below says what its operators publish.

Every kind of activity this handbook covers is sold in or around Levi itself: huskies, reindeer, snowmobiles, the northern lights, ice fishing and Santa. A stay in Levi needs no day trip to Rovaniemi for any of them, and the guides below compare the local operators rather than sending you elsewhere.
