The short answer

Decide first whether you are paying for the farm or for the ride. The Torassieppi visit in Muonio costs from 55 euros a head and buys two hours of history and feeding, with no sleigh. A ride on its own means Levi, where the longest ride costs the most in total but the least for each kilometre in the sleigh. Check the child price on the date you want, since none of these prints one, and note that the farm visit is non-refundable inside two days.

Near Muonio, the reindeer price you pay depends mostly on whether a sleigh is involved.

The farm, priced for history

What the Torassieppi price buys is the farm and its museum; nothing in it moves, and nothing in it pretends to. It is also the only price here with its cancellation terms published, and they are strict.1

The ride in the package

The winter packages add a short sleigh ride at the same farm, but only as part of a stay of several nights, so the ride itself has no price you can compare.

The rides in Levi, priced per metre

Divided by the distance in the sleigh, the Levi rides rank in the opposite order to their totals: the shortest costs the most for each kilometre and the longest the least. If the ride is what you are paying for, the long one is the better buy even though it is the dearest ticket. The four are compared on other grounds on reindeer farm in Levi.

Questions people ask

How much of a package price is the reindeer visit?

The operator does not say. The winter break package starts at 962 euros a head for three or four nights with meals, winter clothing, transfers and a husky ride and a snowmobile trip as well as the reindeer visit, and none of those is priced separately. If a sleigh ride is all you want, the package is not a way to buy one.

Do the Levi ride prices include getting there?

Their transport is from Levi, not from Muonio. The three-kilometre ride includes return transport from Levi, the 1.5-kilometre ride a shuttle to its park, and the 800-metre ride offers pick-up and drop-off without naming where. The 46-minute drive from Muonio to Levi and back is therefore a cost to add on top of any of them.

Will we pay exactly these prices?

Not necessarily. Every figure here is a starting price: the farm visit's booking engine shows its price as a from-price in the product list before a date is chosen, and the Levi listings print theirs the same way. The price for your date and your party, and the child fare where there is one, appears only once you choose a date in each booking system.
