Questions people ask

Can one person book a private walk?

On the Iivaara walk, yes, at €320 for a solo traveller against €190 each for two or more. The fell walk beside Ruka also says there is an option for solo travellers, but the resort shop sells it only from two people, so ask MyTrail directly. The other walks book from two participants in the shop.

Do we need our own winter clothing?

Yes. MyTrail asks for your own outdoor clothing on all four walks and lends the snowshoes. It rents winter clothing on request, and its site has a clothing guide and a rental page. Plan for standing still at the viewpoints and the fire as well as walking: an extra warm layer, a hat and mittens.

How late can we cancel?

On three of the walks MyTrail keeps the whole price inside three days, half inside a week and a tenth inside two weeks. The Oulanka walk is more forgiving: the whole price is kept only if you cancel inside a day. Private walks are planned for your party, so book them once your dates are firm.
