Snowmobile safari price in Kilpisjärvi: what a seat costs

The short answer
Share a machine and put the children in the sledge. Sharing costs the same as the platform's headline price, driving alone adds 50 to 90 euros a head, and the sledge seat is the same or cheaper. Children pay adult fares, so a family's total is simply the seats it books. Book on the platform if your dates might change: the company's own terms keep the whole price inside a week.

Every Kilpisjärvi snowmobile tour has three prices, and the one you pay depends on how you ride.
Three seats, three prices
The company’s own pages price a snowmobile to yourself, a shared machine and a seat in the guide’s sledge separately, while the booking platform leads with the shared figure.1 Driving alone adds between 50 and 90 euros a head depending on the route. The sledge is never dearer than a shared seat, and on the cairn tour and the Halti day it is the cheapest way to go.
No child fares
The company says it prices seats and machines, not people, so children pay the same as adults.2 A family saves by sharing machines and filling the sledge, not by age.
Where you book changes the terms
The same tours cost the same on the platform for a shared seat, but the company’s own terms keep the full price if you cancel inside seven days.3 The routes themselves are compared on snowmobile safaris in Kilpisjärvi, and the private options on private snowmobile tour in Kilpisjärvi.
Questions people ask
What does a family of two adults and two children pay?
With the adults sharing one machine and the children in the sledge, 570 euros on the Three-Country Cairn tour (two seats at 150 and two sledge seats at 135) and 480 on the beginners' loop, where every seat is 120. On the tundra tour or the four-hour loop, all four seats are 180, so 720 euros. Children must be eight and are charged as adults.
What does it cost to make one of these tours private?
The company adds a flat 660 euros to the normal fares and agrees a time with you. For two people sharing a machine on the cairn tour that comes to 960 euros, and for four sharing two machines 1,260. The fee does not change with the party size, so it is cheapest per head for a full group; the private options are compared on their own page.
What extras should we budget for?
A pick-up from accommodation within five kilometres of the office costs 8 euros a person, return, on the company's own site; this site's record of the platform listing shows 5 euros. On the Halti day a box lunch can be pre-ordered for 20 euros. Anyone who wants a snowmobile to themselves pays the single-driver fare, which is the largest extra of all.
