The short answer

For the fullest Christmas afternoon, book the forest cabin: baking with Mrs Claus, stories from Santa and a gift for every child, with transport from Levi. For a family that wants a quiet private moment with Santa without a whole programme, book the short meeting at the Elves Village and drive there yourselves. For children who need to run around, choose the elf park.

Where these figures come from
  • Forest cabin: Two hours in an old cabin near Levi with Santa, Mrs Claus and an elf, gingerbread baking and a gift for each child.
  • Santa's house, Elves Village: A walk through Santa's house and a meeting of five to ten minutes for one family at a time, eight kilometres from Levi.
  • Elf park: Three hours at an elf park with an elf guide, Santa, reindeer feeding, gingerbread and sliding.

Levi’s Santa visits differ in what surrounds the meeting and in how many other families share it.

An afternoon in a forest cabin

A hundred-year-old cabin a quarter of an hour from Levi hosts Santa, Mrs Claus and an elf for a shared afternoon: the children bake and decorate gingerbread, hear Santa’s stories and each receive a gift, with transport from Levi.1

A short private meeting

At the Elves Village, eight kilometres from Levi, one family at a time walks through Santa’s house and rides a lift to his room for a meeting of five to ten minutes. Getting there is up to you.2

An elf park

Arcandia’s Elf Court gives each group an elf as a guide for three hours of activities around a meeting with Santa.3 The other Santa visits sold in Levi are compared on Santa Claus in Levi.

Questions people ask

Which one suits a family with a baby?

The short meeting at the Elves Village, because it asks the least of a baby: a walk through Santa's house, a lift to his room and a few minutes with him, eight kilometres from Levi. The forest cabin's shared afternoon sets its child age from three, so ask before booking a younger child onto it.

Can we combine a Santa visit with reindeer?

The Elves Village is a short drive from the riverside reindeer farms at Köngäs, so a morning sleigh ride and an afternoon with Santa fit one day. The forest cabin's private version brings the children to the door by reindeer sled, which its shared version leaves out.

Do we need to book ahead?

Yes for all three. The forest cabin runs from late November to early March and fills with shared groups of about twenty; the Elves Village takes one family at a time, so its slots are limited. Book as soon as your dates are fixed, especially for the weeks around Christmas.
