Snowmobile safari prices in Sodankylä

The short answer
Two people who are happy to share should book the ice fishing trip at 180 euros each, the cheapest shared machine here, or the private safari at 194 if they want their own group and a guide to themselves. Anyone who wants a snowmobile of their own should book the 90-kilometre trip: at 303 euros it is the only one that gives every guest a machine, and counted that way it is the cheapest machine of the three, not the dearest ticket.

The lowest fare and the cheapest shared machine, with fishing tackle and a drink included. Three hours, of which the fishing takes a share.
Highlighted figures are the best in that row: the lowest price per person and the lowest price per snowmobile. The machine row counts the fares needed to fill one snowmobile under each listing's own sharing rule, so it is two full fares on the shared trips and one on the trip that gives a machine to each guest.

One company sells all three snowmobile trips in Sodankylä, and the prices only make sense once you ask how many people a machine carries.
The ticket and the machine
The 90-kilometre trip is 303 euros and puts one guest on each snowmobile. The private safari is 194 and the ice fishing trip 180, and both seat two to a machine, so filling one costs 388 and 360. Counted that way the dearest ticket turns into the cheapest snowmobile, by 57 euros against the ice fishing trip and 85 against the private one.
Which count applies to you
If you are two people who will happily take turns at the handlebars, the per-person figure is the one that matters, and the ice fishing trip wins it. If you want your own machine for the whole trip, only the 90-kilometre one offers that as standard; the private safari has a solo driving supplement it does not price, and the ice fishing trip does not offer one in our reading. A solo traveller should treat the machine row as the real price list.
What the excess adds
Each listing names an amount you can be liable for if the machine is damaged: 600 euros on the long trip and the fishing trip, 500 on the private safari. None of the three offers a way to reduce it, so it sits behind every price above, and two people sharing one machine are sharing that exposure too.
What each trip is like to ride, and who the limits rule out, is on snowmobile safari in Sodankylä, and the fishing half of the middle trip is compared on ice fishing in Sodankylä.

Questions people ask
Can one person take a shared machine alone?
The private safari lists a solo driving supplement among the things not included, which tells you it exists but not what it costs, so the office is the only place to get that number before you book. The ice fishing trip states one snowmobile for two participants and our record shows no solo option on it at all, which is worth checking if you are travelling alone.
What is the insurance excess?
The listings put a figure on what you can be liable for if a machine is damaged: 600 euros on the 90-kilometre trip and on the ice fishing trip, and 500 euros of personal liability on the private safari. None of the three lists a way to buy that excess down, so it is part of the price you are accepting rather than an extra you can decline on the day.
Is winter clothing included?
Yes, on all three. Each listing includes thermal overalls, boots, gloves and a helmet, along with the safety briefing, so the only clothing question is what you wear underneath. That makes the sums on this page a fair comparison: none of the three has a clothing hire charge hiding behind the ticket price the way some trips elsewhere in Lapland do.
